Church Finance and Administration made simple

About This Course

Churches play a crucial role in societal development and community engagement, making it imperative to ensure their financial and governance practices are sound and transparent. This program aligns with the global agenda of promoting sustainable and ethical governance practices within organizations, including religious institutions. Several church leaders, especially in churches where the founder is still alive, often lack proficiency in finance and governance. Additionally, many churches face significant challenges in financial management and governance due to improper handling of finances and inadequate governance structures. This short course addresses these challenges by providing advanced training and knowledge in church finance and governance. The financial management of church organizations requires a distinct approach that integrates sound accounting practices with the principles of stewardship, transparency, and compliance with local regulations. This four-week intensive course is designed to equip church administrators, leaders, and finance personnel with essential skills in financial management, accounting, and Ghanaian tax compliance. The course offers practical knowledge necessary for effective financial stewardship, encompassing foundational financial management principles, church corporate governance, basics of bookkeeping, and an overview of Ghana’s tax systems relevant to religious organizations. Participants will also gain hands-on experience with accounting software and Excel, enabling them to directly apply their learning to the financial operations of their churches.
